Door, quarter and back glass in Dallas
Tempered glass does not crack, it detonates into thousands of blunt pebbles that end up in the door cavity, the seat rails and the carpet. Replacing the pane takes an hour. Getting the rest of it out of your car is what separates a proper job from a quick one.
What we replace
Windshields are laminated, two layers of glass with plastic between them, which is why they crack and stay in one piece. Everything else on the car is tempered, and tempered behaves completely differently when it goes.
The one that gets broken in a smash and grab. The pane drops into the door, so the door card comes off, the regulator gets checked, and the cavity gets vacuumed before the new glass goes in and up.
The small fixed panes behind the doors. Usually bonded rather than dropped in, so they are closer to a windshield job than a window job, and they need proper cure time.
Almost always carries defroster grid lines and often an antenna. The replacement has to match those, and the connections have to be reattached and tested rather than tucked out of sight.
The part that gets skipped
One door window is somewhere around four hundred grams of glass turned into gravel. Gravity takes most of it into the bottom of the door, where the drain holes are. Some of it goes into the seat runners. Some of it ends up under the carpet, and that is the batch that turns up six weeks later when a passenger puts a hand down the side of the seat.
If the car was broken into, we can usually get you covered the same day so it is not sitting open overnight. Say so when you call and we will prioritise it.

Worth knowing
A broken side window is usually somebody else's decision, made at two in the morning. Here is what actually happens next.
01
Side glass often costs less than a comprehensive deductible, which means filing gains you nothing. We will quote it first so you can decide with a real number.
02
Yes, though anything left inside is visible and the cabin is open to weather. We can tape a temporary cover if there is a wait.
03
Film does not survive the break. New glass comes clear, so tint is a separate step. Texas rules are on the tinting page.
04
Not for us to do the work. Your insurer may want one, so it is worth filing before you call them if you intend to claim.

Same day where we can
Door, quarter or back glass, with the year, make and model. We confirm the right pane, quote it, and get the car closed up again rather than leaving it open to the weather.
